Thank you so much for preserving this landmark in it's "true" state. I would no doubt love to take a guided museum-state tour, but it wouldn't have the same feel, the same melancholy as looking at these Tods through your lens. Outstanding, Motts.

@autoguy, submariners used the same method to find leaks at depth; when it sawed the broom handle off, you knew you found the leak...

Going through this beautiful pictorial again, those scrappers better be damned careful pulling the windings out of this place... operational or not it's still on the grid!

The cylinder of one of the Tod blower engines. Very efficient design, using a closed loop by burning the waste furnace gas in the engines that are compressing the air for the furnaces. Unbelievable photography once again, Mr. Motts thank you for documenting and preserving the industry that won our wars and built the country.

Interesting how words that were perfectly normal to use without negative connotations sort of... change over time.
