i am a 29 yr old rhode islander and i was look ing back at all the good memories i had there it is a shame that i would never get to take my own kids there. sure there is six flags but nothing beat a day of rides and then eatting at the chowder house on a cool fall day damn thoses back taxes

Just to clear a few things up. My step-uncle is the "farmer" who sold the property for 2 million,not 35 million. Also I worked at Dixmont when I was 14. Granted, I'm sure there was some funky stuff that went on years ago but when I was there it was just a hospital that housed lunitics. Cool place to work though as first job

The "new" Worcester state hospital is to the left of photos of the clocktower. If you've ever driven around the campus- it's the building attached to the "neuro diagnostic" building. They house quite a few pt's- one floor dedicated to housing inmates that are being evaluated for psychiatric disorders/problems. It is not as large as others may think- a few floors are left unused. UMASS also operates an acute psych unit on the 8th floor.
