It hasn't been demolished. 4 teens were arrested there just this month.

Motts, you mentioned how heavily vandalised this place is, i am a frequent visitor to henryton for poetic inspiration, photogrphic purposes and its serenity, and each time i visit, heart-breakingly, it becomes more and more crippled, i've seen holes in the walls where kids with sledge hammers literally level entire walls and rip the washing machines out and toss them across the campus, it was once such a beautiful hospital and now its barely even standing:(

i live right by here and i visit it often and every visit the place becomes more and more destroyed, i have no idea when you visited henryton for this photoshoot but ive never seen it looking so great, but thank you for posting these because its nice to see that it still can offer great photo oppurtunities!

I love the varying shades of green in this...beautiful!

I love how the paint on the wall starts as whitish, then fades to a light green/yellow, then a darker green/blue...it looks like a coastline, the white representing the sand, the green/yellow where you can see the sand through the water, and the dark green/blue as the deep parts.

I love that you can barely make out "Fire Door" on a door that obviously didn't do much to stop the fire, as it appears the black is from fire damage. The contrast between the red of the rust and what looks like fire damage/soot is amazing. Very nice composition.

You guys keep calling it a "boy"...is it just me or does no one else see the red lumps that seem to protrude from "her" chest? To me, it looks like a young, stocky girl facing slightly away from the camera, looking down the hall.

Gorgeous shot, Motts. I love the desolate-ness of the photo and how it seems to just channel that dead, decaying, late-November chill...I have no idea when this was taken, but this picture to me seems to embody the slow decay of fall. Love it.

@shsheek - from what I know of Mr. Motts, he's not the type to "pose" things...I'd be very surprised if he did set this up.
