I know plant racks look like that..maybe since they were a city unto themselves for awhile, they used it for a greenhouse. I am thinking the rug was original to the room and the rack was stored there later.

I like the barrel ceiling and the railing is beautiful. And yes I'm here...it is strange to want to be married in a place like this...but totally understandable to those of us so afflicted...lol

Those are very tall walls...and they look to be tiled all the way to the top. Also, with those cords strung there, it looks like they had electric soap dispensers.

The incredible detail in the trimwork seems so out of place in an institution. Oh that those craftsman would still be available to build me a home today!

I dunno....maybe there wasn't any room on the wall? Love this shot...the floor looks like it was repaired...hence the two colors.

Actually, it looks like a "hopper" where soiled textiles are rinsed out. The solids can be flushed away after the item is rinsed.

Tile is part way up because that is where the hand, foot, face prints would end up. It was more expensive to install, but easier to clean.

Hmmm...those round things must be lights...they are too high for soap dispensers....aren't they?

I quote from the Bible because these pictures say something to me. I myself am not a very elloquent speaker so I use the words of others to express what I feel when I see these pics. And the nice thing about these comments is that if you don't like them, you don't have to read them. There are many comments I have skipped for whatever reason. Enjoy the pictures, Mr. Motts is such a skilled photographer, I spend more time on the pics than I do on the comments.

I would not be a good urban explorer...my house would get filled up and some of those places would get emptied out! I just can't help myself...I love to scrounge!
