According to the history I've read, it is not known if the mother gave the morphine injection - and so the person who gave Helga the broken jaw is still a mystery. Some claimed Ludwig Stumpfegger drugged the children, but James O'Donnell claims he was simply a convenient target, as well as too intoxicated on that night (from his book: The Bunker).

Looks like they were busted out for scrap or salvage.

I hope to travel to Pripyat and Kiev at some point, just a matter of money and time. Moscow and St. Petersburg look like fantastic places to explore as well.
