Our little rental car plowed through the isolated weed choked streets, arriving right at the doorstep of the old Moorish mansion. Cutting out another long hike was a relief to my jet-lagged body; we seemed completely isolated from anyone in the field of long grass dancing in the strong breeze, but kept an eye out for some kind of authority who might drive up at any time.

The architecture of the mansion was fantastic; bricks laid in intricate patterns created a facade unlike anything I've seen - no corner was without precision detail. The structures were boarded up rather well, but I was able to jump in a hole here and there. Unfortunately the interior was completely gutted; the beautiful style of the exterior could not be found in the stripped out rooms.
