This is a nice shot, Motts. The reflection of the vines in the window, makes it look like it is shattered, like the patients minds that once were brought here for treatment & help.

The Motts have been doubled.

The black & white of this photo, makes this place seem older than it is & that a new winter coat of snow has fallen in the courtyard, covering the overgrowth there.

nvusofmotts, yeah, this is one imposing view of the place & I can't imagine what was going through the minds of the kids that were brought here upon seeing this place & being led inside.

Wow, what a neat little bar & club area. The light fixture in the middle is awesome & colors of this place are interesting, I bet this was a nice place to hang out in the days this resort hotel was open.

Wow, what a room & the stained glass dome in the ceiling is awesome. I hope that stained glass dome can be saved & reused in another place, as not saving it would be a huge waste.

UPDATE: The pool area has been torn down & there is a video on YouTube of it being done.

There is a couple videos of the south wing being burned down by fire fighters as well. Looks like The Pines is being taken down a piece at a time.

I love this picture, the whiteness that the infrared has given this shot makes the place look clean & still full of life, even though it is no longer in use.

colin, it was also featured on the Travel Channel show, Ghost Adventures & some odd things happened while the crew was there filming.

After seeing what happened to some of the patients & what went on at this place, I'm glad it got shuttered. Such bad treatment to these kids, who just needed some extra care & a little more love.

Looks like something out of Silent Hill. Great shot.

This looks like something out the the hit AMC series, The Walking Dead. Where the words "Don't Open, Dead Inside" were written on a set of chain locked doors. Awesome shot.

T, it is sad that this place could not have used, as another hotel or even a nursing home. For such a grand place to sit & rot away, either by weather or because of vandals, is just sad.

Motts, any chance you'll check out a sister Catskill resort, Grossingers? Before it is gone too?
