this was part of the civil war wing, this wing was one of the first parts constructed as a military post called fort tyler, later housing patients, did some ghost hunts here and remember this ward very much!

Amazing how some jackasses have to deface property by "tagging". At least they don't lift their leg and pee all over to mark their territory.

If I ever saw this happening, they would be walking funny with paint cans shoved up their asses. I wouldn't use any lubricant either.

How is it possible that the lights still work? How long does a lightbulb last, anyways? I can't imagine they would still work after, say, 5 years continiously burning...? Anyone?

I live right there in dix hills you can see these buildings from my home. WE go ATVing in there all the time at night. Its mad scary but still so cool and the state police are there now and they ride on raptors (A kind of atv) they open fire on your quad on my friends quad one opened fire on his tires and they got him fined him 5000 ditruction of property just for ripping up a lil grass tresspassing. But still the view at night when your right there holly crap. I deliver pies there during the day for lucarellies not the same as being there at nihgt but still scary as all hell.

I can literally walk to this place from my house. I live in Dix Hills. I deliver pizzas to this place. Its so big and so many building but you can see the main building from a mile away. We go quading (atv) at night hear and they have there own state police that potrol the area on atvs at night they fired at my friends tires once and got him. They actually opened fire on us for being on there property but this place has to be one of the scareiest places on this site especially at night and knowing its still active. the buildings dont looks as abandoned as that picture the buildings are in the same shape but windows and stuff are fixed still scary as all hell. message if you ever wanna come hear and want a scare.
