Raw materials used in casket making vary greatly. The Peace Box is made from card-board, and a deluxe coffin for a head of state may be made of solid bronze. Wooden caskets may be assembled from pine boards, or use an expensive hardwood such as cherry or mahogany. The most common American coffin is made from steel. Still others are made of fiberglass.

Most caskets, except for the most simple, contain, in addition to the outer shell, an inner lining. This is typically made of taffeta or velvet. The lining may be backed with a batting material, usually polyester, and cardboard may back the batting.

Other materials used in the manufacture of coffins include steel or other metals for hinges and accessories; rubber, if a gasket is used to seal the coffin; and paint.

MOTHER . FATHER - is perfectly precious picture with the snow - no names no dates no - just MOTHER . FATHER for any mother&father;
Thank you. Must have had a very special good sound, taking the caskets up and down. A dignified quiet whirr, methinks, suitable for the chapel.
Gorgeous and ingenious indeed - it is a great picture
Built cleverly.
Thanks. There is the beautiful cool lamp again.
YES! Better days has seen, this organ ...The lamps are very cool.
All very good & nice. Lamps still there - the glass even has gleam.
Gracefully suspended is correct - all just hanging there - it gives hope. Some with the glass sphere intact. Sometimes people are just nice, they let them just hang there. Left them alone. Wonder if still IS so. Time gone by.
You take lovely pictures - thank You so much
Wow! I looked at the top and thought it was a brocade cushion and thought about how lovely it would be to own...now that I read your explanation... do I dare ask if you opened it? I couldn’t have stopped myself!

I immediately thought the same as Tracie - the Grim Reaper. Looks like he's trying to draw us into the crypt with him.

I truly hate snow, but this photo is so beautiful, peaceful, and tranquil that I may even start liking snow! I can't stop looking at it.
