ohmygod I love the comparison between the old and the current -really makes you look back and forth and think of all kinds of things from the people that worked and lived there to is that what my house will look like in 100 years - amazing
"cool" to say the least ~
Looks like it might have been a pizza oven from the thin door at the top and the sets of hinges down the sides.
Freakin' Awesome to say the least! Now I'm in love with brick ceilings!!
Holy cow, that's a narrow doorway. I don't think I could even get through that sideways!
Plaster of Paris over slats, old school construction but shows this place was built to last.
Even in decline, it's still a beautiful place.
Well, at least the bricks didn't burn which may explain all the brick work in this place and in the ceilings, too!!
Something about this room I absolutely love. Even with the sinking floor and no window, I still find it mesmerizing. What I don't get are the ceilings. Are they brick and if so how on earth did they do that? I've never seen brick ceilings before. And yet, I can't see this room with anything else but. PS - thanks for a wonderful new gallery.
That tube shaped thing at the bottom left looks exactly like an old cake decorator I used to have. Put the frosting in the tube part and your two fingers go through the two round parts and then you push on the center thing, viola. . . frosting comes out the other end through a fancy tip. What on earth could they have used this for?
We need a seclusion room in the office where I work ~
If I am not mistaken, this show is available in DVD form at Amazon for $22.49. I purchased this several months ago and was mesmerized watching it. If this helps, here is a link to the item page at Amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/...276540204&sr=8-1
Ephemera: The Lobotomist
In the children's cartoon show, The Berenstain Bears the little girl is called "Sister", (just sister) and the little boy is called "Brother". All the other little cubs have names but for some reason in this family, no. For anyone that's interested
These places look so much better without the fluorescent lighting. Can you imagine the old asylums back in the 1800's before electricity when they were lit with candles and gas lamps? Cool!
Looking in the mirror at their new hairdo WAS shock therapy!
