Or a school yearbook from 1961
I would love to contact the owners and offer to buy everything that's in that projection room! It seems such a waste to just let it sit there and gather dust when it can be sitting in my house gathering dust!!
Ephemera: Village Theater
Holy cow! Finding that projection room was a treat, I would have not been able to leave that place!
Ephemera: Village Theater
I could move right in there and live happily ever after
graceful for sure
My favorite "Motts" topic are the missing / collapsed floors. LOVE IT!
3,000 years from now the wrought iron will have rusted away and the building will have disintegrated, but there will be a plastic jug or a styrofoam cup lying there to be discovered.
I can only imagine what diseases are growing in there now!
I don't stop by here for one day and what happens? A NEW gallery is posted! Thank you, looking forward to taking in each photo. I must say though, I like reading your histories and stories of the shooting day as much as I like drooling over the photographs!
I also LOVE these beasts!!
Growing up going to the movies almost every week, I would always look behind me to try and see what was going on in "that room" at the back of the theater. If the movie sucked, I would just turn around and focus on those dark windows. When I got older, I had wanted to learn to be a projectionist but at that point all the theaters in my area were turning into "multi-plexes" and doing away with the old stuff. It was a dark day in my life when they took down the last CinemaScope screen and replaced it with those smaller ones. ! I still should have done it though!
Holy cow! I wish I had bought that stuff. I'm facinated with technology both old and new.

mamills - if you want to fill someone's ears with stories about the projection business, I'm your person, just email me! Thanks.
At least they're not lonely -
Spongebob has a bed just like that!
If you are applying for a job as Mr. Motts assistant, you'll have to take a number and wait in line!! HA! There are others like myself that are anxiously waiting for the call that have applied for the job. And I even have equipment such as tripods, digital and film cameras, lenses, filters, video cameras, computers, maps and a willing vehicle!
