The film 12 Monkeys was filmed here. In particular the scenes where
Pitt and Willis are in the mental hospital. Great phots and amittedly kinda spooky.
This is so bizarre. Looking at the original design It's like they filled those empty areas with more cells blocks to accommodate an increasing population, With total disregard for the architecture.

That little statue head, on top of the radio, it's a copy of Michelangelo's David.

The man had good, classical taste.

Just about every door at Eastern State Penn had doors like that. They were so heavy and massive, the wheels were a good alternative to hinges
@DanniDurant-Cool!!!! I will go to check these places out if I ever get a chance to return to ESP.

if u look in the door to the left u can kinda see the head and sholders of a figure wearing a hat
There are three lamps and a radio in that cell. What I'm wondering were did all of the outlets come from. There is one light on the upper right wall. I pretty sure they did not have outlets in cells way back then. and if they did it would take a three prong socket or two extention cords to operatate all of his stuff. It looks good . But I think something is fishy in Denmark.
