I was a assistant facilities engineer @ Marlboro back in the late 70's thru early 80's. I worked on all the mechanical systems for the entire facility and as such I was one of the very fe that had access to every single area, so I can tell you that I saw it ALL during my term of employment. In all fairness to the medical/psychiatric staff, most were very caring and professional individuals. In regards to the patients/residents...most were deeply disturbed and pretty much non-functional and some you wouldn't ever turn your back on because they would straight kill you! But suprisingly, there were many there who by today's standards were extremely normal and very good people Haha. To sum it up from my experience...Marlboro harkens back to a time when we as a society sequestered those individuals who posed a very real danger to themselves and others, where now they simply walk among us...
i Worked at this hospital for 5 years in 1965 - 1970. At times they were better off when they died cause what some of the aids did to them. Slapped them around etc. Even the head doctor was horrible. When he did an exam to the females he did more then exam. Who knows what else went on in that place.
'How' is the first word the person wrote to start the note. When he realized that wasn't the way he wanted to start the note, he turned the paper around & wrote a new one.
Wow... Weird seeing this place again! My daughter started working there in the 90's, soon after they filed a report on this place. She was so eager to help wherever she could. She said at night, she'd go to peek through the square windows on the door. Fantastic photographs!
It's just common practice to avoid numbers of bad omen, even in today's world. My guess would be that there was never a patient #666. Just like buildings missing the 13th floor. (In china it's usually the 4th & 13th floor missing in commercial buildings. 4 sounds like death or die in chinese)
Anyway, sorry to post dribble in an old gallery. Saw the updates, glad you're back!
