What a shame the building couldn't be saved. This lobby photo (esp the before & after shots) are incredible. It really must have been beautiful in its hey day. The tower is now torn down, whats left is slated to be redone, probably just the lobby, everything else will be new. I think the tower was the best part.

As commented earlier, I worked at the Hotel in 1968 & 69 as a desk clerk and the view from just about any room in the "high rise" seciton of the hotel was fabulous. Thanks!!

I worked in the Hotel Sterling for approximately two years before joining the Air Force in 1970. Awesome place! Love your pictures and appreciate you bringing back fond memories. I always enjoyed working there and all the excitement that come with grand Hotel. Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!
