This also reminds me of Boston State Hosp. Motts, did you ever have a chance to photo BSH. before it's demise. It was laid out like most state hosp. in Ma. but I believe they started to shut it down in the 70's Work there for 3 years and always remembered it was a sad place.

This is a great shot until I figured it out. I first thought these were wooden scrolls that emphasized the ethetic side of of this complex. At the end of the hall I pictured an elevator that took one up or down to another ward. I then realized that it was neither and I was so disapointed. Ducts, dead ends, I guess.

A pic that accentuates the lonliness of it all. A stark chair, a sore butt, a bad back and why the hell am I sitting in this thing.

It's almost nice that the roof has colapsed and it brought in the light and the air. Nature cleansing and regaining what belonged to it the first place. The pic reflects a renewal and change.

It's amazing how they sterilized this complex, it looks like predators came in stole mostly everything that meant a damned thing.

The photo says it all, this place was built on the cheap for warehousing.

Ethetics, there were none. Practicality, like who cares.

I've always loved pictures of doors and stairways, but the combination of both in this shot along with the flow of lines throughout a nice geometric piece. The contrast between the qualities of light works well too!
