The only pleasant experience I've ever had at the dentist was when they hooked me up to the nitrous and left the room!

I used to help clients in and out of standers...i always thought they looked like torture devices myself, but the clients seemed to enjoy the break from being in their wheelchairs. Never was sure if they actually understoof why they were in the standers though.

They are actually fairly comfortable. All new staff are supposed to sit in or try on each piece of equipment to see what it's like and get a little empathy for the person who uses it. I found the sidelyers surprisingly comfortable and I would never have thought it by looking at them. Since many people who use this equipment are verbal, you can get very quick feedback on how comfortable it is. There are also a lot of physiological signs that can clue you in quickly if the equipment is not comfortable.

I can't say where this stuff is, but if somebody really wanted to see it go to further good use, It may not be that tough to do. Here, for me, I would go see some folks I know at Hands On Atlanta. Maybe their web site has some links to organizations in your area or something. Indeed that stuff is not cheap, and could definately help somebody. It IS possible.

If the stuff was here in ATL, I know how to get it to folks that could use it. If it was let loose, that is. Looks like lots of it is still usable. Even that one device for tortu.. oops, (cover nose from Lynne), I mean, stander.

It appears so Sketch. I have an engineering utility called "Convert" that lists "Torrs". 1 PSI = 51.71 Torrs. 1 Torr = 1 mm of mercury.

This is important stuff to know when somebody wants to use that old equipment to make a Frankenstein monster.
