That dang funny angled thermometer is gonna be haunting my dreams for the rest of my life! And so is this freaky looking Snoopy with the bent up legs.

Good heavens that's falling apart worse than anything else you've shown us in this place!

It does look like an Aspirator(suction unit) and given that this was a TB facility. It makes sense to have one.
Even today it is still the most effective way to clean out the lungs and general airway.
