OK I did a quick google search. Nothing on Johns-MANSVILLE.
But I did find a Johns-MANVILLE. Maybe just a typo. (Sorry Motts)
Started in 1858 making asbestos shingles. In 1901 H.W. Jonhs Manufacturing Co. merged with Manville Covering Co. (H.W. Johns-Manville Co.) and made a number of things including asbestos/cement, acoustical and magnesia products.

Such heavy drugs in addition to Electroshock Therapy? “. . if she gets out of hand. Daily if necessary.”?
I tend to be suspicious of anyone given so much power as doctors looking after possibly involuntary patients. It could have been that she was violent enough that she *had* to be drugged like that just so she wouldn't become a danger. But the last sentence makes me question if they were just trying to keep her quiet rather than treat her. Drug her up so she won't cause trouble, then stick her in the corner somewhere.
Though, to be fair, I know more about treating physical problems than I do mental ones.

I always have a feeling that you're not the only one in places like this. Do you ever get the sense that these places are haunted?

at least the people got to have some enjoyment in a place like this. I wish I got to roller skate when I was "invited" to stay in one of these places as Carrie Fisher would say haha

Is this an isolation room? It definitely looks like one with the lack of doorknobs and the observation window.

That dresser is circa 1900s-1920s (my dad and I collect/restore antique furniture). It looks to still be in pretty solid shape. Such a shame it's rotting away, neglected...

Floor tiles are made of polyvinyl chloride not asbestos.
