This building was actually built in 1904. It is one of the original buildings, along with the Administration building and Awl, which is a carbon copy of this one to the right of Administration. Awl was for females, although there were no bars on the windows like there were here.
Amazing shot. I was just there this weekend and it's amazing what a freaking wreck the place is now. This shot isn't even possible there is so much stuff in the way now...

Bathrooms are very dangerous in psych Hospitals,even today. While staff attempt to give privacy it also is an opportunity for patients to attempt to harm themselves. Many suicides in psych hospitals happen in bathrooms. This room having the two windows may not have been an asset. Psychotic patients many times need the decreased stimulation. Just imagine if you felt someone was coming to get you through not one but two windows.

I cant believe how one place can be so sunny and beautiful looking on the outsdie can be so dark and sad in the inside. That in itself is just sooo different .. it is like 2 opposite worlds u can cross into.Almos like heaven and hell seperated by a doorway
