I am the other Lynne the antique carousel enthusiast :-) I also posted a few notes in the Worcester State Hospital area since I had a lovely view of it from my condo window :-)

elke, i think your part right , i have heard there is a simular marking that is used to ward off evil or something to that nature.

I always thought the pentagram was to keep the devil away. Was what I heard.
When ever I got on a road like this i'm always too busy looking at my shoes to notice their uhh .. beautiful murals.

i am a 29 yr old rhode islander and i was look ing back at all the good memories i had there it is a shame that i would never get to take my own kids there. sure there is six flags but nothing beat a day of rides and then eatting at the chowder house on a cool fall day damn thoses back taxes

I remember the Warwick Musical Theatre. That was the best place for a concert, you always had a good seat no matter where you sat. As a kid I use to go there to see the Stars. I was able to not only catch a great concert. But I got many autographs and photos of the Stars there.

We just tear down and throw away our culture and history in this country... Sad...

As far as I know both carousels are still in operation. The big one stripped of it's original animals is running at Misquamicut, and Ernie stated that the kiddie carousel with it's metal horses was operating at Del's (best lemonade around!!). Last I heard it was operating at a dairy/ice cream stand. It was a small portable ride, so I could see it making the rounds (no pun intended! ;-)

Anyway, by now, that's all this place probably is, a dream.

Yes, it sure is a shame. Nothing original and left to look back on anymore. A park this old should have somehow been saved. Now it's gone forever.

So what's the story now? Is everything we're seeing just a memory?

it looks just like this small abandoned kiddie amusement park near where i live before it was turned into a gas station , but you ccan still see where the rides were.
