All, What happened to Rockey Point? I don't remember what Year it was, 1995 I think. Hurricane Bob Blew Through the Northeast with a fury not seen since the 50's. It destroyed the park. How do I know? I was there. We used to stop here with my Sea Scout Ship on our annual 2 week long Summer Cruise. We were in Martha's Vinyard when the storm blew through. Rocky Point was supposed to be our next stop. Alas, the destruction closed the gates. Never to reopen.

I think that the City of Warwick along with the State of Rhode Island could have done more to keep the park open. What did the City, State and the people of Rhode Island gain by the park closing...
