BACK IN THE LATE 50S WE WOULD RENT A MOTORBOAT (OUTBOARD) AND MOTOR UP TO BANNERMANS ISLAND. A FEW TIMES WHEN WE GOT UP THE NERVE TO LAND, A SECURTIY GUARD (?) WOULD START YELLING AND THREW A FEW ROCKS. IT BECAME GREAT SPORT AND WERE REALLY ENJOYED THE EXPERIENCE. NEVER DID GET TO LAND ON THE ISLAND THOUGH.
