I swear to GOD that this is going to be my house some day!

In response to misunderstood comment. As in the days when these asylums where built a lot of people still treat mentally ill people as (for lack of a better word) "Lunatics" and "abnormal" specimens. To some, they are not human beings or people, they are someone to be locked away or worse yet to be thrown on the street to do as they please and the slim few who think this, maybe they will kill each other so we are rid of them. It is a sad way to be, but unfortunatley there are still people with that sort of small mind. I think they should be the ones put into a mental facility anfd evaluated to find out what their problem is.

I don't believe so... this section of the building was sealed in a fashion to slow the process of decay.

The paint looks almost FRESH!!! Was this place in the process of being refurbished at any time???

The effects of any shade of red pigment (pink, salmon, orange) is well known today as "angry" colors.......of course, LIGHT hues of these colors would have less of that affect, but it IS a pretty gross color to have to look at all day! Wonder why the walls were only painted part-way up.

Looks like you got an entity. Places like this are likely full of them. Nothing wrong with that, I guess......The pictures themselves show the craft of an awesome photographer! Cudos.

I'm not entirely sure, perhaps to discourage patients from climbing or throwing things over the partition.

Last september I drove 6 hours just to take a walking tour of this place. Almost died behind the wheel on the way back, but it was completely worth it. Haha.
