LOL!!! Whole body soap dispensers. Plug it in, load the soap cartridge, stand up in the tub (make sure the shades are drawn) and then hit the trigger! Instant soaping! Just turn around and then do your backside. All done! Rub it all over then lie down and wash it off! Piece of cake!

Make sure of your aim though. You'll get soap all over the bathroom and your life span would probably be well shortened (or expired). And kids, soap fights are not really recommended unless you fathom not sitting down for probably six months to 3 years. But yep! Soap Dispensers indeed!!!

Or heat lamps when the heating went down. No one likes stepping out of the tub when the A/C is on. Especially, and some might say specifically, when the a/c vents are in the floor, your just out of the tub nice and wet, walk across one of those and the A/C cuts on. NOt a pleasant feeling to have cold air shoot upwards on your bare wet skin...
I believe in ghosts. Seen one myself, and actually ran into one almost falling down and the ghost put his hand on my back to keep me from falling. Was the most strangest encounter I had. Wow.

Anyway, I like this one. Its a lonely recliner-type chair, positioned at a lonely window and probably a spirit sitting there looking forlornly out the window being attached to the place and never getting the chance to cross over.

Which kind of ultimately begs the question: Once these people declared insane die in the asylum before they are declared cured, are their spirits insane? Or once dead do they get their sanity back? Was wondering about that reading all of this...

Motts dude, you amaze me. Simply amaze me. Excellent snap!
I would get a comfy chair (not one in the building), kick back, and gather these papers up and read them. Then, I would ferret them out a handful at a time and keep them safe. Would make for interesting reading indeed, even if they aren't patient records. I wouldn't doubt you can find good documents in these places. Really is a sad state sometimes when patient records are left behind.

Personally, I think the hospital/asylum/sanitarium does that when they get closed down is because they are usually accused of doing harm to patients and when they are ordered to shut the place down leave the records in place in a sort of One Finger Salute to the Mental Health Regulatory Agency or Code Enforcement Office that shut the place down, possibly thinking in a bizarre way it would exonerate them by showing what they did in regards to the care of the patients. I could be wrong on that, but you never truly know... Or else they did it for the same One Finger Salute reasons, but taking a different tact, saying that "if we are closed down, patient confidentiality goes out the window. We close, no long bound by that provision. So close us and see what happens." It really is indeed a bit sad, but would make for fascinating reading nonetheless.
That would be one heck of a nasty mean prank to pull on a blind person. "Hey man! I know were a good Braille book is for you to read! Just follow me!" Yep. Not a good thing to pull on the blind. Helen Keller maybe, but no blind people. Well, ok, maybe not Helen Keller. Sure, the Helen Keller jokes can be funny, but gotta face it. They *are* a bit cruel. So no one get any ideas of doing that. Just get the book, remove it from the property and give it freely to a blind person. Or not. Depends on where your morals stand.
Slap a motor on it, supe it up to around 765 hp, slap a good tranny on it replete with close gears and you got one heck of a motor chair! Just be careful. 765 hp is a lot of horsies, and letting 'em gallop full open can make it very tricky to handle. And yes, make sure you have handlebars, a good-sized gas tank and even a noxide system for boostage. Would outrun any pigs patrolling the property! Not to mention allow it to make plenty of noise. So much so you can be heard for miles!!! Vroom!
Had a few dreams using a wheelchair to get around certain places. Not electrical ones or ones like this one, just regular ones. Mott, I like this one as well. Nicely done, with the excellence of the B&W snappage along with the interesting focal point in general. Another commendatory job and worth plenty in platinum (not gold, platinum is worth more than gold) bullion if there ever was any. Excellent!!!
I really, really like the super contrasting of this shot. Don't know why, reminds me of some dreams I had. Kind of surreal I guess, but nonetheless most interesting...and effective. If there was a Supreme Grand Prize for Abandoned Place Photography (with permission of owners or not) worth around 5 billion in gold buillon (or plantinum bullion) I would first nominate you Motts, then turn around and fix the voting so you would win. You are *that* good. Keep up the work man!
Oh I would so love to have been there with you. This picture I have no words.
I wouldn't mind going through that stuff. Never know what you might find...or not want to find. Actually, probably would be a good thing since there may be nasties waiting in the dark dank depths and then you would be shaking hands with St. Peter and these wonderful snaps of life would be so terribly missed...or at least original work...until the website were to go bellyup...so yeah, good choice actually, Motts.
Nice old announcement machine-thingy. Yes, I typed that and I am sticking to it even though I know it was already described as for what it was. If that, of course, makes any sort of sense. Guess my mind is a billion miles away... Or just ran away for the hell of it... Or to explore these places...maybe not.
This is also an excellent shot. I like it because it is simple, clean, and is a perfect snappage that would also make it onto a promotion poster for a low-budget Psycho Slasher Released From Nuthouse For Killing Spree and Babes Extravaganza! Or something close to that...
Wow... This would make like the penultimate establishing opening shot for a low-budget horror-movie clunker-o-rama!!! Motts dude, again, you are supreme and unrivalled in your photographic capturing majesty. Nicely done and most excellent indeed!!! Keep up the good work and keep clicking away! Please don't stop. Ever.

This is a nice looking building & looks like it could be opened back up again tomorrow, as it still looks great from the outside. I agree with you, Motts, the copper roof is unique & to me, adds character to the place.
This is where the "playing on your Android while on the pot" was first created. haha.
