I have access to this place. I went on monday to do an over view of the area. I am going back in two weeks with permission from the county to walk into the buildings.

I plan on taking alot of pictures since I do not have to dodge the police.

I will post them up soon.

Carolyn, 1947 ! We lived in Bowie. My father was Head of Landscaping at Glendale Hospital. Did your father drive the taxi in Bowie area? That was so long ago and such a small town ... didn't know of a taxi then. Later: Charlie Woods drove the Bowie taxi.
My father was the Head of Landscaping. The hospital grounds were beautiful. Springtime and azaleas. Christmas decor: Wilfred Abell and his boss, Mr. Heizer did much planning and traffic was heavy thru the grounds during the holidays . Most of the people I knew as a child were Glendale Hospital employees.

Was just there last night. It's not hard to get in but more difficult to get out. The police are there and they do patrol. You need to be smart and not walk out in the open, near the front windows, or flash your lights around. Don't break anything, take anything, or mess up the area. There is abspestos, lead paint , sharp metal, and the basement is flooded. The underground tunnels (at least one) is blocked up. Be smart and you should be fine.
If they wait too much longer to restore the vines will have taken over completely.

Tap Bell - as in Bell Jar. For holding tap water? Mouth Gag - to hold open mouth during lavage. That simple. Nothing psychotic, maybe somewhat torturous, but it was decades ago and treatment has changed.

"soiled luradny" -- yes, the precious human gets lost in that system.I'm not sure about the US, but there is little hands-on nursing care here in Canada. No one told us what to expect, how we would know death was near, what to say that would comfort, even that he was about to die.
