Went to glenn dale just the other day. drove by the day before entering and scoped out the security trailer. Drove by the next day before entering and the security vehicle (tan pickup truck) was parked in the same exact place. They do have a pumpkin on the front steps of the trailer so there has to be some sort of police presence there at times! We drove down electric ave to the parking lot just down the street by the pond and gained access to the place by walking around the pond and jumping the fence. There is a window that is wide open right there that will lead you right into the morgue. I literally jumped in the window and jumped directly back out of the window. However my two friends stayed in the adult facility for a little over two hours took over 500 pictures and 2 hours of digital voice recordings We haven't gone through any of the audio yet but in one of the pictures of one of the hallways you can clearly see a woman standing there with a little girl. Would love to share this photo on the site if possible. place is absolutely active with paranormal activity.
I like the first comment I also think this is vampire fence design I really like the fence design look good and scary ,but I really no see any thing to be scare in the others pictures. remember is an abandoned building.

About 13 years ago my ex husband and about 10 friends went up there on about different occasions. The place itself has many storys to tell. Broken dolls and bottles on the floor. Old bed frames still in some of the rooms. Alot of graffiti on the walls from passerbyers. The place had a reched smell to it. I was there during the day. Have many pics from it and it wasnt bad at all or creepy. But once enetered at night the whole scene changes within u. There are sounds u cant explain, cold spots and whispers. Once again it could just be wind blowing through cracks and rats or bats throughout the halls echoing but i think theres alot more there than has ever been told. A friend of mines reletive died there during the tuberculosis era and claimed of the abuse and torturing that went on there. Not only to patients but also to nurses. Her family members thought she was just losing her mind due to the illness but there was many claims of these incidents. Nurses commited suicide and so did patients. Body remains were destroyed in the incinertor. But I do not personally know if any of this is real.
Was jus dere in that exact same spot 2 days ago. At 3 am. So it was very spooky and me and my friends went in the children nd adult building gotta say it was scary but lots of fun. Besides the part wen we had to run from the cops

I grew up in Bowie, and used to go there when I was a brownie and girl scout to sing xmas carols, on that stage. At that time it was a facility used to house D.C. wards of the court who had incapacitating illnesses/diseases. As a teenager, I volunteered there with a couple of friends. It was not a good place to be. Those people, both adults and children, were not treated well. It was heartbreaking and inhumane. Two friends and I ended up going to the local paper and telling them about some of the horrid practices we witnessed. The hospital was closed not long after.

The Park Police vehicle was in the same spot as the prior week....no change in position and same light was on.
My feeling is its a decoy to try to deter people from trying to enter the area. We actually parked across the street and just walked over and went into the main building. Got great pics and had 2 paranormal experiences. Mind you, there were 4 of us, and 3 of us saw the same thing, and all 4 heard the same thing.
Pixar! Surprised no one else thought of it when looking at this..

I'd love to post them, I've had some difficulty finding historic photos of the hospital online. Shoot over a link or email. http://www.opacity.us/about/contact/
I'm working on a genealogy project on my husband's grandmother , Myrtle Elena Harding who was a TB patient at Glenn Dale when she was 15-16 in 1936-37. I'd like to post some pictures that we have. Just for the record: she was a very sick girl at the time, but managed to make lots of friends among the patients and the staff. She has autograph books that are signed by friends and many staff members. My impression of her stay at Glenn Dale was that the staff try to make the patients very comfortable and they did everything they could to make the children feel "normal". There were sports teams, movies, plays, and groups came to entertain them if they weren't too scared to catch TB. Anyway, I'd love to share the photos.
Asbestos infested (reason for it's closure), lead paint peeling everywhere, hazardous to your health to investigate, easy access through front door (just walked right in with permission- "B"). Rolled LOTS of infra-red DVR footage, digital audio EVP's, EMF scanning and FLIR night vision scanning of many on-site locations. There were several bats, but NO ABNORMAL OR PARANORMAL personal experiences during the investigation. NONE WHAT-SO-EVER. Review of the LOADS of video and audio pending.......conclusion: seeming to be just a hazardous-material-boobytrap of a run-down decrepit complex of buildings offering no paranormal investigation value - DO NOT RISK TRESPASSING TO COME UP EMPTY WITH PARANORMAL INVESTIGATIONS! There's nothing there. But it DOES seem that disrespectful local youths LOVE to hang out there and vandalize the walls with tags and graffitti. They need their asses kicked........
