Some sick and twisted people must have worked here. What were they thinking?!This place was filled with thousands of kids! What the hell was there problem?!
These pics rock! But that's not all what the bed looked like. There were also bars around it (some very short, some not as short). There were chains to cuff the paitient to the bed with aswell. This place makes me think of hell.
As Lynne and LST69 have discussed, there are many people that have had the HUGE heart to work with and to care for people, not just people with disabilites. It is important for those that do not or have not ever worked in the field to understand that there definatly is two sides to this sad place. It is sad because it is unimaginable for us to think that parents would leave there children for others to care for. But we need to remember that this still goes on every day. I have come to find that there are many parents that are just willing to give thier children to "the state" to raise because they are unwilling. I do not want to over step here, but there are some exceptions to this. It is understandable that some parents are not able to care for thier children and idealy the child is better off with others caring for him/her.
We all need to understand that those that are loving and caring people who are willing to care for others as they would thier own family . These people need to be remembered and appreciated for the differances that they made in thier patient's lives. Speaking from personal experiance, there is no better feeling than knowing that what you did for another is appreciated. Even if what you did for them was as simple as spending time with them or giving them a bath, or making sure that they are safe where they live.
We all have a responsibility to care for those that cannot care for themselves. Abuse of children, the MH/MR population and of the elderly happens every day. It is our responsibiltiy to help speak out for those that cannot.
This picture and the other one of the children on the wall evoke so much emotion for me. I Currently am a county case worker and use to work with mentaly and physicaly challanged individuals. I recently heard about this place via ghost hunters. It is heart breaking that people could treat others, and most importaly children this way. I understand that some people are not capable for caring for those with disablilities, but to mal-treat them is just unacceptable. God Bless those that had compassion for these poor children and cared for them. For those that were so heartless as to do harm to them... your time will come. Some day you will have to explain your actions, and NO explaination will we acceptable.
It is still as creapy as ever. Was there today with my wife and 2 of my kids. We were not there for more than 10 mins. and were chased off. It is something that stays with you long after you leave. Government run health care is a very scary reality!!!!!!!!!!
ALL OF YA'LL WHO SAY SMART ASS SHIT, CONSIDER THE KIDS AND THE BABYS WHO WERE TREATED LIKE DOGS, NO WAIT DOGS ARE TREATED BETTER, ITS SOOOO VERY SAD!! THESE PEOPLE WHO DID THIS SHOULD BE PUT TO DEATH AND LET EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD WATCH AS THEY SUFFER!!!!
