yes there are too many guards and people who wander around for a homeless person to stay in one spot... there is also much dust and asbestos which wouldn't allow for a very comfortable night sleep.
on a separate note, it is a shame that people who go to visit cant be sure that what they are seeing is truly accurate...there are too many people relocating items or even taking them with them...my cousin, on one of his many trips had found the morgue of the complex...the next time that he went all of the doors and trays had been removed...too bad no one will be able to see it again.

Is it better for them? We had one of the inmates try to sleep in our car. Belive it or not some miss it. It was the only home they knew (good or bad) We live close to Pennhurst and some of them still struggle with being without their home. Even after 20 some years.
