Haunted or not, this is a really cool place. Why can't they have stuff like this around my way?

More than likely the cat was a stray who found its way into the building after it closed. It was probably old or sick, found itself a comfortable place, and waited for the inevitable. The discoloration around the bones is the volatile fatty acid stain left behind when a body decomposes. Insects, etc. probably picked the bones clean long ago...

the cord is more than likely a rubber grounded cord. Notice the brassy hunter badge, fans with those badges were made by Robbins & Myers between sometime in the mid 60s and 1984. also notice the cage on the fan, fans in the 50s would not have had a modern, safe cage like that one. Most fan companies started using safer cages in the mid 60s.
