Keeping them outside on a frozen winters night is better???? I think these places though not perfect did serve a useful purpose and a lot of good people gave a lot of good care. There are not perfect answers to these situations. Vagrancy on the streets is the worse option in my book.

I think they out to hang some potted plants in front of it to give a three dimensional effect . I know were there is one hanging above a door.

They should have hung them around the plant from two pictures ago. Then it would be double catastrophe bad. Har Har

Or panhandling in the streets of the city trying to keep warm and survive. Sad. Which life is worse?

It looks like it was just a part of a carnival game, maybe they once had a carnival for the patients families or something, and this is what is left of it.

I was a patient there in the early 1980's. I was taken against my will on a involuntary order. I was so scared. At the time , I was told that this hospital was the end of the line. It should be noted that I was only 20 years old at the time. KPPC brings back so many horrible memories. The wards were so bad that the visitors were not allowed to see them. They had a visitors room before you got on the unit. I felt as though I was in jail. I am thankful today to have survived my ordeal and be a productive healthy individual no thanks to KPPC
Ive been in this shit numerous times, idk if id say its haunted but some scary damn shits deffinetly happened a few times, ive almost been in every inch of all these building in KP and central islip, if you do happen to get up top to the old police station in that bitch youll get to the top of some stairs with 2 pretty big ass holes in the wall one bigger than the other me and about 10 friends went in was scary because on each side of the holes in the wall was a baseball bat lol but anyway once you get into the room via hole in the wall a loud as fuck alarm goes off you can hear it way past the bar near the place, but its easy as fuck to get in just be real careful for your health, and for police/security....deffinetly watch where you walk outside and inside, and im talkin carefully
