Wow. My legs just got all weak feeling looking at this. I'm not afraid of heights, but leaning over a building like this scares the snot out of me. *eek* Great picture though!
It just goes to show that even people deemed "mentally unstable" were actually very creative and brilliant individuals. Heck, I wouldn't have thought to make the box a camera, so I have to give a lot of credit to whomever painted this.
I hate to be redundant, but yeah, those big buildings around Exit 56 are not KPPC. KPPC is no where near the LIE.
I am actually writing an essay at this moment on the importance of keeping the memory of abandoned institutions alive.
It was funny, over Christmas holiday my mother-in-law was telling me about how she got lost in this strange place with these giant red and white brick buildings with boarded-up windows. She was not to happy to find out that she was on the grounds of an abandoned asylum.
Wow, it amazes me at what brilliant people go to these places. It's not fair to people like Motts who go there to enjoy the historic scenery for what it's worth. It must be "mad ill yo" to have half a brain like them. Seems to me that ~they~ are the ones who should be in places like this.
honestly, does anyone know for sure whether there are alarms or anything like that. I reached the area with the 2 holes and saw instructions on the wall. I couldnt really read them and i have heard talk about alarms so i turned back. Were they once there and gone now?
If I visited this place, I would hope that I would have enough sence not to walk on the beams because I would probably lose my balance and fall through! Scary....not to mention what is in the air.
