Interesting and sad stories to say the least. Not surprising really. I do hope the patients that were not as serious as some did resume there lives and do well (get better that is). Than there are some that cannot be help....sad but true.

Thanks for the story Jess....I can see how that would be hard for your mom to not be able to speak to them. Horrifiying too. You want to help people but than don't know how really. Also , Nicole, I'm so sorry for your horrible experience. I do hope life has gotten much better for you since than. Unless you've been there none of us can ever understand the horror of it all. I'm sure some people were help here and other asylums too but many were not. Just left abandoned to figure it all out for themselves. Its almost inhuman to think. My heart goes out to you all really.....

Why would you put a plant up so high like that? It doesn't make much sense really. Strange if you ask me. Another interesting photo Motts....

I don't much care for the ward idea either. I think I'd rather be with one person than with 10 or 20 people packed in one room. The no privacy thing would kinda get to me. Yeah I have to say the peeling paint is kinda a hazard really. I do hope your careful Motts. Interesting photo....

Can you still get in here?

Kirk,

That would be cool but it would cost more the renovate than to tear down and rebuild. Sad but true.

I grew up in KP and KPHS is across route 25A roughly on the south side the KPPC property, if you were to walk south from Building 7 you would come out somewhere near the high school. On the north side much closer to KPPC is the middle school (closer to 93 if memory serves me right). What was crazy about that is a couple of times when I was in school there and KPPC was still open crazies from there came over and into the school. They were quickly picked up and escorted back here they belong. No one dangerous just the day treatment people I think.

It's another one of those Bradley creations...those guys made their monies worth. I just saw pictures of a funeral home with the same wash basins in the morgue area...kinda creepy.

93 is one impressive building, which I lived closer to NY.

perk your right they aren't. it seems the ones on the left are almost liek a single window with the other two windows to the right are closer together. Interesting! All Im guessign is that the one window is a side window to a room and the ones closer together are another one.

building 93 should be renovated and turned into a hotel or a jail, or school. its very sad to see this building in such poor condition.
