It seems at least to me all these huge,old buildings have artificial christmas trees lying around.

That's actually not a vacuum at least not in the traditional sense. It is either a cast saw or bone saw. Since it was in the morgue its mostly likely a bone saw. It did have vacuum suction to keep dust down (either plaster or bone).

You are very, very brave. I draw the line at exploring old cemeteries (dawn to dusk only). Love the pictures!! I am sure you have explored the many abandoned resorts in the Poconos?
