I'm fairly sure these are some sort of Sumac. They seem to grow wild everywhere!

This reminds me of the elementary school I attended back in the day.
Very similar hall & stairway. Lots of huge windows and high ceilings. It too sat abandoned for many years before it was torn down to make room for condos. Kind of sad.....
