327 Comments for Paris Catacombs

Mr. Motts I've been viewing your galleries since 2006, and I am amazed at some the absolutely fantastic places you photograph. This place in particular shows your viewers the risks you take to bring us these awesome photos.
Darlene that's exactly what came into my mind when I saw this photo! It's very sad to think of how inhumane things were during those times, and all those lost souls who now have no chance of being claimed or identified by their family.
All I can say is,,,, YUK!
There is NO WAY I would have waded through that NASTY looking water, I can only imagine what it must have smelled like down there. YUK! You're a brave soul Mr. Motts!
Someone would have to be REAL twisted to take human remains as a souvenir, but that's just my humble opinion.
Green Paint! We Human Beings behave fantastically strange.
"Think will go down into The Catacombs and paint some green!"
Just the idea is quite Fun Every Day!
I love this Gallery!
"Wanna hang out?"
Imagine: hanging out in the catacombs?????
Yeah. Thanks, flushed. Came out very expressive - the cowl with out a face/head - and the wellmade hands in front. What on Earth could it possibly mean?
Beautiful shot.
Skills. I love skills.
Shudder. And no matches. The had flint stone to strike a light.
Yes - looked it up too. Thanks.
Death unknown....but: Starved to death in the catacombs? In absolute darkness i pure horror just to think about.
Maybe he could hear water.....??????
BRAVE! In pitch black - with flashlight........yes...BRAVE!
No, I do not want to go down there......The Tour Path has electricity, saw.
But I love the Pictures! Thanks, Motts!
This really IS quite A Gallery!
It really DOES look like TWIGS! Dry Twigs.......
Never before thought of Human Bones looking like twigs in/on the forest /soil/. Most weird sensation..........
am so moved & stirred & touched by this insight & realization & understanding......
Thanks, flushed....but animal????
Thought it is All Human Bones?
Now - that IS really strange, too - no rodents, or spilling from them, and not anything living - so very skilled builders, were they not?
- as rodents, and roaches, and whatnot seem to live everywhere......... ?
And you came in the DARK with flashlights.....
