Leave the rest of the theater but for pity's sake preserve that machinery. What a waste.

BKW - thanks; it looks like the panels of color were repainted in 2008. Here's how it looked before the restoration work: http://www.nickgruenberg.com/9ritz.html Yup there's always more creepy hospitals ahead...

I think the town is hoping someone will be able to purchase and fix up the rest of the building. The Historic Natchez Foundation spent about $100,000 on the facade work.

Claudia,
I imagine they aren't flush with cash in Natchez like most of the US these days and fixing up the facade to keep the street looking serviceable was probably the best they could do until such time as it sells and a new owner builds.
I like to think the building is asking us BKW. :(
Great colours, how odd they are still so vivid. Thanks for another great gallery Mr. Motts. Wonderful. Do you have any more creepy hospitals?
What a wonderful photo, with the blue sky almost matching the blue on the building. And the neon rods - how interesting.
I agree, db.
I agree, and how odd that the yellow and blue box in the right foreground is so vivid, and looks so new.
Those are fantastic historic projectors.
Nicely made support.
Love the curving ceiling accent.
