This loss was not because no one showed up there tho, or because the owners walked away. There was just no recovering from Katrina. Most of NO was under water for a long long time just like the park. So we can blame this one on Mother Nature at her very worst. Really sucks actually!
For some reason, these are unsettling..like they dropped down out of the ceiling to "get" you.
LOL @ LucieLou. Smart girl there!
But Katrina was also known for her wind speeds - I would have thought they would have been torn off those railings.

I was stationed with the Air Force at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi when Camille hit...never ever want to go through another hurricane. I have seen the damage those winds can do.
The chains are not even rusted! They are shiny as the day they were hung. Someone does need to rescue this beauty.
Looks like he has his anvil with him. Acme makes everything!
Oh la la........... belle femelle
Thanks for this picture. She is doing OK. - would love to put my face in the opening.
An Abandoned Amusement Park - incredible -
the though has never come to me, and here is your New Gallery.
Thank you for the Visitors Map, and the photo - helpful indeed.
Good you did not tempt fate, behaved yourself well not climbing.....
I saw one of those on Spongebob!
OMG... as an IT person this makes me cringe!!
Rather buxom for a kiddie park HAHA
The ones up above were probably out of reach of the flood waters. Just a guess.
Mr. Motts, maybe you should try to photograph the real Orpheum theater! If you do, don't forget the projection room!
Wow! Someone should try and save that!
very sad and lonely photo....LOVE IT
