Do not even think of climbing those tracks without at least two safety ropes around the side rails, Motts.

BKW - if the wheel's spaces were covered with decorative plates like some others are, they'd have caught the wind like a sail. As it was the wind just went through most of it like a giant bike spoke - not much surface area except on the cars.

LucieLou - talked to an urbexer on the bus once who signed his warning with the name "Urah Fuul". He got about 50 years toward the gate when they yelled "HEY! WAIT A MINUTE!". Fortunately he had a bike hidden in the bushes.

From what I understand they'd have had to be right there after the flood hosing out anywhere that grime or saltwater could be lurking to stop corrosion or grit in bad places. And from the level of effort they put in to doing much of anything ELSE...I'm amazed any rides got saved.

Iceberg, great info! Man I love this community...

One question though - if they acted right after the flood and washed out the insides with fresh (non-salty) water, would that stop things from going south?

To give the IMPRESSION that if you stand under that piano you're gonna get creamed, just like in the cartoons. Nice. That would be such a hilarious photo-op to stand there maybe reading a map and at the top of the picture is a precariously suspended piano.

If nobody else has noticed, the roman numerals go from 1-12 in a clock fashion except where the portal goes into the floor. So yeah, time travel theme.

That's freaking depressing that they left this of all the things. Thanks for the info, would not have known any of them!

Should have named it "We hired too cheap for the ride artists".
