It's very beautiful. I read all the comments. I'm glad that so many worked there or did nursing training. You all have memories of this wonderful place and that is what it needs. To be remembered.
i was here yesterday, all the doors and plywood covers are axed off. ... the only scary part of the day was, a hobo we saw coming out of the main mansion in front....we also went today found an open door into the medical building but some ass called the OMH n they came n took all our flashlights....lol they were mad cool tho....btw in the basements there's tunnel systems connecting each house.....check em out...
Neal Choudhary is that you? Maria & Raj's brother right? Anyway if its you, you'll remember me, Charlotte Long, Eileen'n daughter or Dr. Blazsiks daughter. I still get Xmas cards from Maria. I guess we did have some fun playing in the circle. It was literally a crazy place to grow up, but I guess it could have been worse. My email is bobcharlotte@optonline.net
That was a beautiful house but a little bit scary to live in, I lived in it until 1983, when my mom retired as a psychiatrist from Pilgrim. People should realize it borders probably the worst drug and crime areas of Brentwood. It did have some nice moldings & a crazy basement that supposedly had tunnels that led to the patients wards...like I said it was a bit scary & lonely growing up there as a little girl.
fuck that they still got the files in the morgue of dead people and how they died, my friend took the tunnel to the morgue and had files in her hands when cops arrested her. Im just afraid of those morgue doors... just like KPPC the biggest building third to top window all the way to your left side is always totally black compared to ever other window.
It's funny to look at this site because I have a picture of this building in my dining room from the 90's, before it was all boarded up.
My Grandfather was the engineer at Pilgrim State. My dad lived in one of these houses when he was younger and helped cook for the patients. Some of the patients would come and help my grandma around the house.
So most people are thinking, "This place is creepy as hell."
