Old soda machines are very collectible right now and this one is a classic from the 1970s. In this condition, it can easily be restored. But, given the fact that this photo was taken over 7 years ago, one must wonder if (A) the machine is still there, and (B) what condition it's in today. I'm a firm believer in the rule "take nothing but photos, leave nothing but footprints". But when the time comes for this building's demolition, it would be cool if this beauty could be salvaged.
I had got a dream to start my company, however I didn't have enough of money to do this. Thank heaven my close friend recommended to utilize the loan. Thence I received the consolidation loans and made real my desire.

Agree totally with "a sad granddaughter". Those are the memories I have as I was a granddaughter as well. My grandmother died their in 79. Horrible memories visiting her and still gives me the chills when I hear that name!!

My grandmother was there most of her adult life. I remember crying when we had to visit her as it was such an erie and dark place. The poor lost souls that lived thier lives there. Most of them would have lived productive lifes on medication today. My grandmother died due to complications there, as the nurse told my family to get her out of Pilgrim State. She later died in the hospital. I will always have haunting memories and still to this day, get the chills when i hear "Pilgrim State"

I removed asbestos (properly & legally) from all the buildings in 2002, demolished the smaller buildings (avg 40,000 sf) at that time and now taking down Bldg 23 (with wings 22 & 24). These structures are all obsolete and of no value other than the land they sit on. There are definitely Spirits still in residence, several laborers this week claimed to see two women one dressed in white and one dressed in black. The site has been a gang hideout for the last 10 years, signs of MS13, Latin Kings, and others are quite evident, clear land will be much nicer and safer for all concerned. Don't come back seeking access, dogs are patrolling.

I have been here it was about a year ago, the smoke stacks were still up at the time. It was awesome to explore. We went in through a window and it brought you into a large room predominatel empty. Then we headed to a courtyard into a smaller building . The ffloors were covered all with thick piles of printer paper, all with writing on it. Then out another window that led you to a roof, which we climbed a ladder to another roof. Then we hoped a sketchy ass gap then we went into the main large center building. And that is all full of rickety scaffolding that was creacking the whole walk. Wasn't safe at all, the scaffolding led us to the roof, there was an actual tree growing on the roof haha. We also saw the big burner and shoot that the coal fell through. Awesome place glad I got to explore it. Tryed to go back but cops are taking license numbers down, car vins, and plate numbers. If you return on sight. You will be arrested .
jesica is right.p.s. was a very bad place.driving by you'd see patients looking out. it was a strange place and yes every now and then a body would turn up on the property glad it is gone.god bless the poor souls that were there.

there is still an underground room, locked way down down, under the water table, sealed away, a being so feared and respected...

I WAS THEIR TODAY WITH MY SON. THE STRUCTURE IS AMAZING. WE LOOKED INSIDE BUT WE DID NOT WALK IN. THE BUILDING IS IN BAD SHAPE. I WOULD LOVE TO FILM A MOVIE. OR A DOCUMENTARY.

lots OF SECURITY. WE WERE ASKED NICELY TO LEAVE. THE OFFICER SAID WE COULD LOOK AT IT FROM THE ROAD ALL WE WANTED BUT TO GO ON THE PROPERTY.
