Mandy, you have to remember that Germans have an odd hobby of filing everything most accurately - these folders and the tissue samples are obviously outcomes of this hobby. That they exist doesn't mean those are (still) useful or interesting.

Medical waste... I remember looking at the gallerie for a tuberculosis hospital on this site. Motts had apparently found and photo'd some culture bottles or the like outside, in a wooded area behind the old hospital- where curious children could possibly find them...
