I love reading the comments.eerybody is so interesting.
Sir, I've spent years in some of the very rooms that you have captured. A lot of humanity has transpired within those brick walls and your photographs have an aura-like quality. If you used film, I'd like to correspond.

This area is clean because it used to be the porch. Looks like C-2. There was no paint or tile to get funky. slamviche@yahoo.com
I was Staff. The stories from the old-timers and lifers (both patients and staff) would be a liability lawyer's wet-dream. We are talking medical and pharma experimentation without consent for starters. On the other hand, I saw ECT (shock treatment) conducted first-hand and it helped the person's quality of life. They did a load of lobotomies in the "Medical" building. slamviche@yahoo.com

I am so intrigued by these abandoned buildings, and the photos that all different visitors are able to capture. I am so curious about the metro and the other hospitals in that area...even the few that were abandoned but are still standing on the Mcclean campus.
I am currently at school right near the state hospital in Northampton, MA ...I think I will be venturing over there to poke around soon. Great photos Motts - I will keep checking back to see what new items you post.
