Can still remember the sounds of the nurse giving out the shots of Prolixen...
"Bend over, NEXT! Bend over, NEXT! Bend over, NEXT!
Ahh, to be seduced by the sounds of Boy George from my radio at the Met in 1984...whoo hoo!
They put one patient in seclusion for 3 months for pulling a nurses hair. A nurse who intentionally withheld meds from said patient.
At night the attendants would distribute shots of booze to some of the "compliant" patients...no BS!
One female patient saved her feces and urine in a bowl for a week and when it was time for meds dumped it on the head of a nurse who made "Nurse Ratchet" look like Mother Theresa. A patient who witnessed this and laughed was put in seclusion and we can only guess what happened to the perpretrator.
We could burn 100 dump trucks of sage at "the Met" and it would just scratch the surface of the funky karma that permeates this hellish place. That said, the folks who had grounds privileges didn't have it that bad in general but all bets were off with the locked wards...
Well, some of the folks who looked out from that porch are living in halfway houses or living on the street or in their own apartment.

Why do they tear these places down? I know that they still have State Hospitals {not so many in my neck of the woods} More Ghost Towns, anyway they build so they can tear down what a waste of money.
