Why do almost all of the government run institutions almost always have a picture of a clown somewhere ?

All of these clowns always look weird, freaky and a little scary.

Like I said in one of my other comments;

These clowns remind of the clown called Pennwise in Stephen King's novel "It".

EVERYTHING FLOATS DOWN HERE !

I know I may be reading too far into it, but my first thought was that the person who drew this may have had a friend who passed away, and maybe this was drawn as a way to comfort herself, saying "don't worry... she's dancing somewhere else now" or something like that.
oh do come in you'll be quite safe with us!
this place is so sinister looking

Yet another asylum with "Agitation Green".
So, Motts, any rooms here with "Color Me Crazier Pink"? If I remeber correctly, Baker's Pink?

Was that meant to throw back to the bakery boxes of past days, or the old medicine company, Baker's? They made something similar to Pepto Bismal...

In case you got those body tissue samples in your eye. Always with the danger and the spoiling of our fun.

Interesting point, Peat, since the asylums were first created to allow a place for treatment of conditions that people needed treatment for, but were instead being thrown into a prison cell to rot.

This asylum, however, has not shut down, according to the statements at the beginning of the gallery. It has simply fallen into disuse, but may be reopened to house more patients soon.

Hope is not lost, though the place is dreary enough to make you think it may be.

As to specimens-
A family member or the patient (depending on their mental state, some could represent themselves) would have to sign off beforehand on the posthumous removal of any body part, unless a stipulation allowed the state to make that decision due to a lack of any relatives. Patient rights have greatly increased in the last 20 years.

Or they could wait 5 more years and the lead-based paint will have removed itself from the walls, apparently.
