I went to day camp in 81,82,83 I have nothing but fond memories, even though I was a rambunctious the priests and brothers were always good to me. It is a shame to see the state of the school. My mother-in-law worked for the county for 30 years she's going to try and call in some favors to get me permission to enter the school, it will be bittersweet seeing the familiar sights as kid in disrepair. Any one else go there in the early 80's and remember Fr. Charles, Fr. Mark, Fr. Steve, or Brother Dennis??

After the altar was destroyed, bricks of marble were strewn about. I have one at the entrance to my home's back walkway because I know it is blessed!!. Also walking in side the building and near the chapel after the place was in shambles, i found a small plastic manger in perfect shape on the floor. I grabbed it and know it is also a sacred item from the chapel from this wonderous place. I live in Goshen and walk here frequently in prayer.

This looks like a window in the chapel. Exploring the chapel one day, two wallpaper flowers fell from the ceiling down to my feet. Needless to say I took them as a gift from above and have them in a place of honor in my home!

I have walked this park many, many times in peace and prayer!! I often admired the cross that stood for so many years on top of the tower! I was also lucky to ride my quad here before Goshen purchased it. One beautiful spring afternoon I was fortunate to be the only person in the park when the tower fell. I now possess the cross that was on top of the tower. It is in a place of honor and I still look and often say a quick prayer . The town discarded many of the rafters and gave some to a company that builds barns. The cross will always be revered and when I leave Goshen will bring it with me to be both a memory and honored souvenir.

On the floor that the stairs are leading too was the room for the provincial when he visited once or twice during the year. It was more like a suite with a bedroom and parlor. Also during the years 65-69 Fr. Earl Bissonnette had his bedroom on this floor. Brother Benny also slept in the mansion do not remember where his room was. Joe the barber also slept in mansion along with Bill the recovered alcoholic who tidyed up the mansion. Now Fr. Earl, Brother Benny, Bill and not sure about Joe eventually Bro Joe rest in the cemetary.
It is mostly all gone now....history is only on the internet and the hearts of those who remember...lots of misinformation...but that is someone's perception...Fr. Adam is not burried there...Fr. Herzog lives in Colorado,...life moves on
all gone now........

I used to work there as a lifeguard...
Lovely!!
Animals tear up pillows, etc. to obtain material for nest building. In old buildings like this that's probably what goes on.
