It was nice to see a place without having to sneak around, especially in another country where I might never get an opportunity to visit this particular structure ever again. Plus, it isn't really "abandoned", just not used very much, so it's kind of a different situation... but I don't mind taking the occasional tour of a real neat place like this.

Another terrific set, Motts!!! Thanks!!! I still can't get over how perfect everything in this place still is!
Nice depth! All that needs to be said. :)
Interesting. It APPEARS as if the original railings (the rounded pipes on either side of the pivot point) had to be 'upgraded' (OSHA, anyone?) with a second, newer railing. (The square-tube). I could be wrong, since I can't see the whole thing, but I like that little fact. :)

Nice!!! From THIS angle, you can see the access door, and the holes in the weight....

Wow. Is this the beam from the historical pic, where they were hoisting it?

Intricate work on the engineering of this machinery, too! It looks like an access door on the connecting rod there, on the left, and to the right. That metal spike going through must be a weight for balance...Another beautiful perspective....

OK, I'll take a Guiness, please!

I wonder what these REALLY controlled?
