I can agree that we all can can our tempation and curiosities here. God Bless Motts for his respect for peace and remeberance. Un like some who relish in desecration.

If I may add that three leaves, even so in a shamrock are the representation of the Holy Trinity.

Sporrans also are decorated with tassels and sometimes fur trim. This is most likely a personal momento. A person may of placed it there outside in rememberance of the one on the inside.

Digitally adding a ghost in this picture would of been great!

Motts,
As black as the crown is, I say silver definately.
Being of Barony this crypt is, I definately believe it is silver.

I like the detail in the iron work. The veining in the rose petals, daisies, and leaves there. Even if that person was supose to be placed there and forgotten. It is touching how you made such even a simple thing known.

Wow, but a creeped out wow! I do agree though, even with all that I have seen on this sight, this definately a new level of photography. Being a girl, I would of been like a horrified cat inside there. But then at the same time I would of been curious to see actual remains......ehhh, I am so indecisive!

Yeeeeeeeek! Okay,.......Even though it is only photography, this the real deal. Real bones of dead people are in there and you were standing in very close proximity to them. It almost as if I were there! Ewww.....I can imagine the smell must of been revolting. As creepilly beautiful as the nail and ironwork is on the casket is, and the arched door is the best part,.....it's t oo close to dead people as I can deal with!......Yuck!

the crown is, infact, a coronet. the motif is a strawberry leaf which shows that the coffin belongs to an english duke. the fact that the window is a trefoil or a clover leaf is, i would guess, purely coincidental as it is a common gothic ecclesiastical motif. i would love to visit this place!
