It saddens me, too, that someone would go in and disturb people's loved ones' remains like this! It's pretty obvious that the person or persons that did all this don't have a conscience of any sort.
Yeah, I agree. There are definitely more than one person's bones there. And now, thanks to Motts, there's actually someone I have more distaste for than à so-called 'building recycler'. Now that I've seen much of this gallery I would have to say I loathe the 'grave robber' even more! (Grrr!)
Ditto!
I really like this one! The contrasts are great, Motts!
O-kaaay! Remember how I mentioned the possibility of satanic worshipers earlier? This definitely looks like some critter's head has been sewn onto the body of a doll; but I don't think it's the head of a rat!....Maybe I was wrong. Maybe what's been going on here is something more like Voodoo or Santaria.....What do you think Motts? You were there & saw all this stuff in person. BTW, I think this is one of the 'strangest' subjects you've taken a photo of! : )
That must have been quite a pretty casket when it was new!
It's such a shame that the graves down here are not taken care of as well as the gravesites above!.....Also, I'm guessing that when all that is left of a body is the bones, you don't usually smell decomp anymore. : /
Uh...dead animal parts? Grave desecrations? Hmm...I'm now beginning to wonder if the 'vandals' were, perhaps, satanic worshipers that broke into the crypt some Halloween night....Just a thought.
This window had to be so beautiful before they smashed it! It was so well put together, it had to have really taken a beating to get broken! Thanks for taking a close-up shot of it, Motts, so we could see what a few pieces of the stained-glass window once looked like.
Gee Whiz! It's almost like whoever went in there went into a sudden angry rage, and took it out on the whole place! Perhaps, they didn't find as many valuables on the bodies as they had hoped and just 'lost it'.
So sad that vandals would so blatently destroy the final resting place of others. But I am curious to see the rest of this gallery.
The destruction made me sad, but amazing album at the same time. I loved seeing all the different bones.
Interesting, it looks so cool, but that sucks that all of the skulls were stolen.
I see a part of the pelvic bone, most likely a hip, and part of a beautiful old casket, I love the detail on it.
Yeah that looks like a full set of leg bones, and FYI the pelvis is one bone that has 3 fused together sections.
