Of course it would be wonderful wouldn't it Sara? I agree :]
Unfortunately those who have the final say [contractors, landowners, etc] could not imagine though, to spend double or triple the amount of money to restore and refurbish an exquisite edifice, and Kirkbride, nonetheless. No no, when the price of a wrecking ball and dynamite comes much cheaper and on swift wings. These poor phoenix's of our past thus must suffer the consequences of our ill humanity. Makes me ashamed to be part of it...

(Wow, I was deeply enthralled in my own thoughts there, hah!)

I think I've joined the crowd of groupies (addict?). I started this morning at around 10:20 and it's now 4:52 p.m. Hand is stuck on mouse and I'm starting to atrophy! Gotta pull myself away or my cats will starve to death! ;^)

Wow! This photograph is insanely cinematic! It looks like a still from an old film noir! My photography professor would probably pee himself with happiness if he saw this! lol

I wish that there were some kind of agency that would study these buildings while they are still in use to see if they can be transformed into somthing else, to lose such amazingly beautiful buildings is so sad! Imagine how many trees and stuff that would save if we could recycle these buildings!

Soo awesome thats what I want to see, because that tells you what really went on in the hospital.
WOW, the angels must be watching over this property!!!
WOW, its still intact, amazing. HOPEFULLY the owners will be responsible and contact a local architectural salvage yard and let them remove the artifacts that won't be used should they develop or reuse the facility. If they reuse this I would think that they could work in the windows, etc. I'm always so curious about why things are left and then vandalized or destroyed, it seems like such a waste.
Love this photo. Bravo!

Is it me or is there a figure of a person popping out from the chipping paint above the door? .....................Spooky!

ever become afraid you may find yourself accidently trapped behind one of the various rooms you explore such as these?
