This shot reminds me so much of Naval Hospital Beaufort, SC. Bad memories but the hospital was such a walk back in time.

After reading these comments, I just googled which company demo'd the property and of course I work the same company but in a different state currently. If my job takes me to demolishing structures like these, I don't know if I could take it.

The patients maintained the golf course, as well as played on it. I believe the patients were paid for their work, and they had their own bank on the premises. The patients also did housekeeping as a paid job, and worked in the stores from which patients bought items with the money they earned from working in this small "city". It is truly a shame that this self-contained city that provided as normal a social life as possible for these people was shut down instead of being used as a model for other facilities for the mentally ill.
